| Deep in the forest where the Others hide, Kae is a faerie banished from his home with poor eyesight and magic that does not serve his kind. He interferes only with technology, not nature, and for that he can only be of use among those who use it: humans. It is both an adventure and a curse that takes him from his home in exile, watching them so that he can exact his revenge, pulling magics of mischief and capriciousness. He may seem unkind at first, easily offended and so sure of his supremacy despite his faults. It takes him just a moment to get past that and show that he can be nice, however, in his own way. Good and bad qualities blend in together, following his own social norms and cues. Because he cannot see well, Kae will often use his other senses, such as hearing, smell and touch, to get around and get to know a person so that he may remember them later. He communicates with animals and practices only small basic spells of manipulation outside of technopathy, also capable of shifting his appearance from a small pixie-like creature to a humanoid boy. To him all humans are arrogant fools, and he will always hold himself above their eye level. |
